Voter turnout at Windsor advance polls tumbles

The City of Windsor says turnout at advanced polls is down 21 per cent from the 2014 municipal election.

Corporate Marketing and Communications Officer Mary Rodgers told BlackburnNews.com 5,348 eligible voters cast a ballot in five advance polls between October 6 and October 13.

There are 144,680 people eligible to vote in Monday's election in Windsor. It means, just 3.69 per cent of voters have cast a ballot already.

Voter turnout was higher in Tecumseh which also released its numbers Tuesday.

By the end of the day Monday, 1,850 electors had voted or 10 per cent of all eligible voters.
