Happy Birthday WFCU Centre

The WFCU Centre is turning 10 years old October 18.

There will be a big celebration before the Spitfires game beginning at 6 p.m. with music, cupcakes and other activities outside the rink.

Free skating and swimming dates will also be announced along with special ticket prices to Spitfires and Express games, special food prices and details on academic and athletic scholarships.

Admission is free to the outdoor cake cutting.

The Spitfires play the Barrie Colts and $10 tickets are for sale online only by using the promo code "anniversary" in the presales/promotions section of the Spitfires website available only until 7 p.m. game night.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
