Spits trample Colts 4-3

The Windsor Spitfires edged the Barrie Colts 4-3 in OHL action on Thursday.

The Colts scored the only goal of the first period to take the lead, but Luke Kutkevicius scored for Windsor 53 seconds into the second to tie things up.

Barrie scored another two goals in the first half of the second period, however, Daniel D'Amico followed up with a goal at the 11:35 mark to bring Windsor within one.

Connor Corcoran and Chris Playfair scored two unanswered goals in the third frame to put Windsor in the lead for the win.

Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro made 27 goals out of 30 shots on net.

The Spitfires will travel to St. Catharines on Friday to take on the Niagara IceDogs at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
