Kingsville lawyer accused of professional misconduct

A Kingsville lawyer is being called before the Law Society of Ontario to determine if he engaged in professional misconduct.

Dean Clark of Kingsville is accused of acting in a conflict of interest when he engaged in a sexual and romantic relationship with a vulnerable client between December of 2012 and October of 2014.

A Notice of Application regarding the conduct filed on October 19 alleges that Clark did not adequately disclose the conflict and did not recommend independent legal advice to get her informed consent to continue the retainer.

A date for his hearing has not yet been scheduled.
