UPDATE: Westbound Highway 3 in Tecumseh reopened

The westbound lanes of Highway 3 in Tecumseh have reopened after a two-vehicle collision.

Tecumseh Fire and Rescue reported via Twitter that a dump truck and an SUV were involved in a crash between Manning Road and Malden Road in Maidstone shortly before 1 p.m.

The female driver of the SUV was extricated from the vehicle and was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the dump truck was not hurt. Both vehicles suffered significant damage.

The westbound lanes of Highway 3 from Manning to Malden were closed for around four hours while the OPP reconstructed the incident.

No word yet if any charges will be laid.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
