Windsor hit & run suspect caught

A Windsor man has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Windsor police said three vehicles were involved in a crash near Drouillard Road and Tecumseh Road on Wednesday night but when officers arrived there were only two drivers at the scene. Investigators said the driver and passenger in the third vehicle ran away.

No injuries were reported.

The unnamed 26-year-old is charged with careless driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, driving with a G1 licence without a proper accompanying driver, and driving without insurance.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
