Firebirds rise above Spitfires 3-1

The Windsor Spitfires dropped a 3-1 decision to the Flint Firebirds on Friday.

Flint score the first goal of the game 16:40 into the first period, but Mathew MacDougall scored for Windsor 7:22 into the second to tie things up. However, the Firebirds were able to score two unanswered goals in the third to put them ahead for the win.

Piiroinen, Kari made 28 saves out of 30

Despite the loss, the Spitfires outshot the Firebirds 35-31.

The two teams face off again on Saturday. The puck drops at 2:05 p.m. in Windsor.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
