Speeding highlights traffic blitz in Windsor

Windsor police conducted a traffic blitz on Friday night and gave out 49 tickets.

Authorities said the majority of the tickets handed out in the area of Huron Church Road and Cabana Road were for speeding. Two of the tickets were for stunt driving and the vehicles were towed.

Police are also reporting encouraging results during their R.I.D.E. program Friday night at two different locations. Officials said almost 400 vehicles were inspected but there were zero impaired drivers.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
