UPDATE: One person in custody following east Windsor standoff (VIDEO)

Windsor police have a man in custody after a standoff in east Windsor.

Armed officers camped outside of a home on Ellrose Avenue near Guy Street for two-and-a-half hours on Thursday morning for an investigation involving a wanted person.

The Windsor Police Canine Unit, Windsor Fire and Rescue Services and Essex-Windsor paramedics had been on the scene.

Homes in the area were not evacuated, however, police were telling people to avoid the area until further notice.

One person was seen leaving the home with hands-up shortly before 11 a.m. and was placed under arrest without incident. Officers then walked into the house to search it.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
