Spitfires beat Greyhounds in 3-2 thriller

The Windsor Spitfires edged the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 3-2 in OHL action on Thursday.

After a scoreless first period, the Greyhounds made it on the board first with a goal 8:29 into the second. However, Jordan Frasca and Daniel D'Amico scored back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead heading into the third.

The Greyhounds kicked off the final frame with a goal in just over a minute of play, but Frasca scored his second goal of the night to put Windsor back in the lead for the win.

Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro made 29 saves out of 31 shots on net.

The Spitfires are on the road on Saturday to take on the Bulldogs in Hamilton. The puck drops at 4 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
