Windsor man faces long list of gun charges after Tecumseh incident

A 34-year-old Windsor man faces charges after police found a prohibited weapon and a high capacity magazine on a suspect.

The Ontario Provincial Police say officers were called out to investigate a report of a suspicious man last Friday at a home on Edgewater Blvd. in Tecumseh.

They spoke with the man, who told them he had a gun in his backpack, and when officers pulled it out, they discovered it was a rifle with a collapsible stock.

The gun had been stolen a year ago from a home in Windsor.

The suspect also had a court order to stay away from weapons.

The charges against Tyson Huff include unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and prohibited device, careless storage of a firearm, careless storage of a prohibited device, and trespassing at night.  There are 12 charges in all.

The charges have not been tried in court.
