Lasalle police hunting for alleged serial thief

Lasalle police are looking for help to identify and catch an alleged serial thief.

Investigators have released video footage from the McDonald's at 93 Wyandotte St. E. in Windsor in hopes someone recognizes the man inside a stolen Grey Volkswagen going through the drive-thru on Monday at 2:53 p.m. The closed-circuit television footage shows a suspect driving the stolen Volkswagen that was recovered in LaSalle on Tuesday at 2 a.m. on the 7th Concession. The driver is seen smoking a cigarette.

Police said the suspect is responsible for some significant thefts from cars and trucks around the Windsor and Essex County region. Forensic officers found nearly 30 pieces of mail, numerous phones, identification, and keys in the stolen car when they processed it.
