UPDATE: No foul play suspected after body found in Detroit River

Police have identified a man after his body was found in the Detroit River near Amherstburg.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Friday around 4:30 p.m., officers were called after the dead body was found in the river near the Canadian Coast Guard base.

A-70-year-old Windsor man was identified by his family. OPP say the death is deemed non-suspicious and thank the public for their assistance.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
