Labour ministry investigating incident at Windsor fertilizer business

The Ontario Ministry of Labour has confirmed it is looking into a reported industrial accident on Windsor's west side.

Windsor police say they responded to a call around 8:15 a.m. on Thursday concerning an incident at Prism Berlie, a fertilizer manufacturer and wholesaler located between Ojibway Parkway and Sandwich Street.

Ministry spokesperson Janet DeLine tells BlackburnNewsWindsor.com that emergency crews were called to the location to assist with an employee who had a medical emergency. The employee was taken to a local hospital with no word on their condition.

Per procedure, the business notified the ministry and an inspector has been assigned to look into the incident, according to DeLine.

The investigation is ongoing.
