Windsor woman charged with attempted murder

A 25-year-old Windsor resident is facing charges of attempted murder after an early morning stabbing in downtown Windsor.

The stabbing took place around 3 a.m. Monday morning at a residence near the intersection of Windsor Avenue and Erie Street E.

Police responded to a call stating that a female had stabbed a male at the house. When officers arrived at the scene they learned that suspect and the victim had gone to the hospital.

At the hospital, police arrested the woman without incident.

The male victim suffered critical injuries. Karolina Zak of Windsor is charged with attempted murder. According to police, both parties were known to each other.
