UPDATE: Windsor Police investigate New Year's stabbing downtown

Police in Windsor have a suspect in custody after a stabbing just after midnight downtown.

A male victim was taken to the hospital with stab wounds after officers were called to investigate an incident on Ouellette Ave. near Maiden Ln.

The man is in fair condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection to the incident.

The area of Ouellette Ave. and Maiden Ln. has seen its fair share of violence over the past year.

In December, police were called to a brawl involving several suspects and two male victims.  In October, a Mississauga man was shot just four days after two men were stabbed during a fight.

The incidents are unrelated.
