UPDATE: Charges laid in downtown New Year's Eve stabbing

The police have arrested a Windsor man in connection with a stabbing in downtown Windsor.

The stabbing took place shortly after midnight on January 1 on Ouellette Avenue near Maiden Lane.

When they arrived on the scene, officers found an adult male with a stab wound. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Through investigation, police were able to identify a suspect.

Branden McCraney, 20, was located and arrested without incident around 6 a.m. that same morning at a business near the intersection of Huron Church Road and Daytona Avenue.

He is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon.

No weapon has been recovered.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
