UPDATE: Car pulled from Lake Erie at Colchester Harbour

Two people have been rushed to the hospital after a car went into Lake Erie in Colchester Harbour.

Ontario Provincial Police Constable Jim Root told BlackburnNews.com the call came in around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The car entered the lake at the boat launch.

There is no word on the condition of the two people who were in the car.

Root said the investigation is still in the early stage.

Root confirms a helicopter was used in the rescue, and firefighters from both Essex and Kingsville responded along with paramedics.

The investigation continues and the OPP is asking anyone with information to contact the Essex County detachment at 519-723-2491.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
