Spitfires blank Otters 5-0

The Windsor Spitfires shutout the Erie Otters 5-0 on Thursday.

Daniel D'Amico and Will Cuylle put Windsor on the board late in the first period to take a 2-0 lead heading into the second. Cole Purboo added another goal for Windsor 4:20 into the second, and Curtis Douglas scored after 11:22 to bring the Spitfire's lead to 4-0.  Douglas added one final goal for Windsor 12:58 into the final frame to cap off their victory.

The Spitfires also outshot the Otters 33-22.

The Spitfires are headed to Kitchener on Friday to take on the Rangers at 7:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
