Parent Ave fire displaces six people

Windsor Fire and Rescue says six people are looking for places to stay after a Saturday fire.

Fire officials say they were called around 8 a.m. to a duplex on Parent Ave. at Assumption St. on a report of a house fire. When crews arrived on scene, fire had involved the lower unit of the duplex, with heavy smoke in the upper unit.

The fire was declared out within an hour and an investigator was soon called to determine the cause. Six people in the two units have been displaced but no one was hurt.

Windsor Fire says the blaze began in the living room of the lower unit of the house, where most of the fire damage occurred. Smoke damage affected the upper unit. Total damage is estimated at $100,000.
