Express stand up to the Riptide 91-88

The Windsor Express beat the Saint John Riptide 91-88 in NBLC action on Thursday.

The Express jumped ahead in the first quarter with a 27-13 advantage at the end of the frame.  Windsor continued to lead the Riptide in the second and held a 48-34 advantage heading into halftime.

Saint John cut Windsor's lead down to three points by the end of the third and then took a 76-74 advantage in the fourth with just over seven minutes left in the game.  However, the Express regained their lead in the final minutes to win with a three-point advantage.

Juan Pattillo led Windsor with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Tyrrel Tate put up another 14 points.  DeAndre Thomas also added 13 points and four rebounds.

The Express are in Halifax on Friday to take on the Hurricanes at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
