Two Windsor men face vehicle arson charges

Two men are in custody in connection with a vehicle fire in downtown Windsor earlier this month.

Windsor police say it happened on the morning of January 6. Officers responded to Ouellette Avenue near Hanna Street after reports of a vehicle fire that was believed to have been set on purpose. The vehicle in question showed extensive fire damage.

During the investigation, video surveillance of two suspects was obtained. One of them was seen purchasing gas, then meeting with the other before the fire was set. One of the men lit the fire while the other stayed in the area. No one was hurt.

The WPS Forensic Identification Unit, along with the arson unit, continued the investigation and identified two suspects. One was arrested on Tuesday night, the other Wednesday night.

Milton Allen and Angus Leblanc, both 47 and from Windsor, are charged with arson causing property damage and possession of incendiary material for the purpose of arson.

The investigation is ongoing. These charges have yet to be proven in court.
