Express blown away by the Hurricanes 128-97

The Windsor Express fell to the Halifax Hurricanes 128-97 in NBLC action on Friday.

The Express trailed the Hurricanes 33-28 at the end of the first quarter and Halifax continued to hold a narrow 56-53 lead heading into halftime. The Hurricanes increased their lead in the third to take an 86-74 advantage at the end of the frame, and Windsor failed to keep up in fourth to lose with a 31-point deficit.

Chris Jones led Windsor with 16 points and five assists, while DeAndre Thomas put up another 14 points and had four rebounds.  Horace Wormely added 13 points and four rebounds.

The Express are on the road again to take on the Cape Breton Highlanders on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
