Impaired charges after driver allegedly leaves the scene of crash

The Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges after a vehicle left the scene of a crash early Sunday morning.

Police said an eastbound car and a westbound pickup truck equipped with a snow plow collided around 4 a.m. on County Road 2 in Lakeshore.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries, but damage to the vehicles was significant.

Initially, the driver of the pickup was trapped in the vehicle but managed to get out.

The driver of the car drove off, but officers were able to stop it a short distance away.

Officers suspected the driver was impaired and arrested him.

Jesse Camilleri, 26,  is now charged with driving while impaired and being over the legal limit. His license has been suspended, and he is expected to appear in a Windsor court on February 19.
