Fire in Walkerville causes $100K in damage

The combination of a space heater and combustibles are to blame for an early morning fire on Lincoln Road.

According to Windsor Fire and Rescue services, the fire broke out around 7 a.m. in a  second residence behind a main house on Lincoln Road near Gladstone Avenue.

Windsor Fire said on their twitter account that the fire started on the second floor of the residence after combustible products were placed too close to a space heater.

Crews were able to put the fire out in under an hour.

Damage is estimated to be around $100,000 and no injuries were reported.
