Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the region.
It said we could get up to 15 mm of freezing rain before it transitions into rain around the noon hour.
Schools remain open.
Local runners will lace up this weekend in support of cancer research.

The event was originally planned to commemorate Corunna almost becoming the capital of Canada.
A meet the candidates night is planned on Monday, September 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Maawn Doosh Gumig Community and Youth Centre.
The series will bring both aspiring and established business owners together on Tuesday evenings at the Maawn Doosh Gumig Community Centre.
Gates for the three-day fair will open at the Wyoming Fair Grounds on Main Street on Friday, September 18, at 5 p.m., with opening ceremonies beginning at 7 p.m.
