Spitfires stomp Sting 3-1

The Windsor Spitfires snapped a five-game losing skid with a 3-1 victory over the Sarnia Sting on Thursday.

Chris Playfair scored for Windsor 13:41 into the first period and Nathan Staios added another early in the second to extend their lead to 2-0.  Cole Purboo scored 5:19 into the second to add one more to the Spitfires' lead.

Sarnia made it on the board with a goal with just under 14 minutes left in the second frame, but Windsor was able to hold off the Sting in a scoreless final period for the win.

Spitfires goalie Colton Incze made 17 saves out of 18 shots on net.

The Spitfires will look for a repeat of Thursday night's game on Friday when they face the Sting again in Sarnia at 7:05 p.m.
