Sentencing for a Windsor man who pled guilty in a 2017 homicide case has been postponed.
A spokesman for the Superior Court of Justice in Windsor told BlackburnNewsWindsor.com that the hearing for David Formosa, 46, has been delayed until next month due to illness.
Formosa was to be sentenced Thursday morning for the death of 19-year-old Dallas Nelson. Nelson was shot to death on February 21, 2017, at a home on University Avenue West near Marentette. The victim had somehow made his way to the hospital despite his injuries and police were then called. Nelson later succumbed to his injuries.
A first-degree murder charge had previously been laid against Formosa but there was only enough evidence to proceed to trial with a second-degree murder charge. Formosa pled guilty to manslaughter in January.
Formosa was also facing several gun-related charges.
