UPDATE: Police investigate after shots fired at a home

A police investigation is underway after shots were fired overnight in a Windsor neighbourhood.

Windsor police say they received a call shortly before 12:30 a.m. Friday about shots being fired in the area of Tourangeau Road near Milloy Street, about a block away from Ford City Public School and W.F. Herman Academy. When officers arrived, they noticed bullet holes on the front facade of the home, along with a handful of bullet casings found in the road nearby.

Several witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area, according to Windsor police Sergeant Steve Betteridge. Officers spoke with the occupants of the home and confirmed that no one was hurt in the incident.

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating, and the scene is being held while investigators obtain a warrant to search the premises, said Betteridge.
