Alleged drunk driver arrested after pickup ends up in a field

The Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Lakeshore man after the driver of a pickup truck ended up in a field.

Police say they got a call about the truck going off the road just before 11 p.m. last Friday near County Road 11 and the 5th Concession in Essex.

Despite having a flat tire, the driver managed to get the truck out of the field and was stopped in the northbound lanes of County Road 11 just south of County Road 18.

The officer arrested the driver because he exhibited signs he was impaired.

Glen Izsak, 54, is charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and driving over the legal limit.
