Couple involved in Highway 3 crash flees

The Ontario Provincial Police are looking for a man and a woman who fled the scene of a collision Wednesday.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. on Highway 3 near Walker Road in Tecumseh. Constable Jim Root said a vehicle carrying a male driver and a female passenger crashed, but there were no additional details given on what led up to the collision.

The couple then abandoned the vehicle and left the area. An extensive search of the area by the OPP's K-9 unit and Emergency Response Team turned up nothing.

Root said the vehicle sustained serious damage but it was not believed that either person was hurt.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or with any information to contact them, as it was not known why the pair fled the scene. The OPP can be reached at 1-888-310-1122, or tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
