UPDATE: One dead following EC Row crash

One person is dead following a rollover crash on the EC Row Expressway in Windsor.

The Windsor Police Service said the crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. on Friday in the eastbound lanes at Central Avenue. A pickup truck could be seen on its roof at the scene of the crash.

Police have confirmed that three people had to be taken to hospital following the crash. A female passenger died of her injuries en route to hospital. The driver of the vehicle and a passenger were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Eastbound EC Row was closed between Central and Jefferson Boulevard for several hours while officers conducted an investigation. The expressway was reopened to traffic shortly after 10 p.m. Windsor Fire and Rescue assisted in the WPS Accident Reconstruction unit with the investigation.

Windsor police are still investigating this incident.
