Massive fitness club coming back to its roots in Windsor

The largest fitness club in southwestern Ontario is coming to Windsor.

Movati Athletic, founded in Windsor, has announced an $18 million development just south of Devonshire Mall at 650 Division Rd., which will create more than 125 permanent jobs and over 150 construction jobs.

The club said it will offer a variety of studio fitness classes, women’s only facilities, yoga, cycling, and more. The massive fitness club is expected to be complete in about a year. The two-level club will be 70,000 square feet and will have two swimming pools, including one for women only.

“We couldn’t be more proud to build our 17th location in Windsor,” said Chuck Kelly, CEO of Movati Athletic, who is also an Amherstburg resident. "It will be like having access to six boutique studios and a premium fitness club, all in one membership, with something for all ages and fitness levels.”

Movati, which launched as Total Fitness in Windsor more than 20 years ago, will also donate $25,000 to the Miracle League of Amherstburg.

Movati is the largest premium fitness club chain in Canada with more than 100,000 members.
