Windsor playgrounds set on fire

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services was busy Wednesday afternoon fighting two playground fires.

Windsor Fire Prevention Officer John Lee said two sets of playground equipment were intentionally set on fire 15 minutes apart around 4 p.m. One fire was at the Dawson Road playground near Ontario Street and the other was nearby.

Lee said there's no damage estimate yet.

He said Windsor police took at least one youth into custody, but police have not confirmed that.

No injuries are reported.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
