Walkerville Brewery helps out Unemployed Help Centre

Walkerville Brewery in Windsor is celebrating after raising almost $5,000 for the Unemployed Help Centre.

The brewery, located in the Olde Walkerville neighbourhood, held their Holiday Extravaganza on November 30. The event itself raised $3,106.

At the extravaganza, the brewery announced it would also donate $1 for each bottle of their Limited Edition Black Forest Porter.

Between the end of November and March, it sold 1,710 bottles, raising another $1,710 for a grand total of $4816.

"The Unemployed Help Centre does a vital job in training, supporting, and placing people in jobs in our local community, and we at Walkerville Brewery are proud to support them," said Ian Gourlay, a partner at Walkerville Brewery.

In the past, the brewery has also raised money for the Canadian Cancer Society with the sale of a limited edition Dandelion Pilsner. Teaming up with another local brewery, Craft Heads, the two raised $4,700.
