Vicious assault leads to charges

A 40-year-old Windsor man has been charged after a vicious assault late Sunday night.

Police said officers found a man badly beaten and a suspect in a garage on Lillian Avenue near Shepherd Street around 11:20 p.m. Also found was a black Ford Explorer parked on the street with fresh damage to the windshield and smashed windows.

"Yelling could also be heard coming from a garage," Windsor police said in a news release Tuesday afternoon.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, although police added he was "seriously assaulted".

Police said the two men began arguing and started fighting.

Andrew Schultz, 40, of Windsor, is charged with aggravated assault, mischief under $5,000, and four counts of failing to comply with his bail conditions.
