Body found in Colchester identified

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has confirmed the identity of a woman's body that washed up on a private beach in Colchester last month.

The OPP said Cresta Pyle, 43, of Ohio was reported missing from the United States on June 19, 2019 and was discovered in Colchester on June 26, 2019.

The Ontario Provincial Police worked with the Gibraltar, Michigan Police Department to confirm the identity of the deceased woman.

The OPP is no longer investigating the woman's death, but have not said if foul play is suspected.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
