Multiple injuries after vehicle hits Tecumseh Beer Store

Five people have been injured after a vehicle slammed into a local Beer Store.

Tecumseh Fire and Rescue said via Twitter that a vehicle crashed into a building at Tecumseh Road East between Shawnee Road and Poisson Street in the downtown area around 2:30 p.m. Monday. A check of the address provided by Tecumseh Fire confirmed a match with the Tecumseh Beer Store location.

At least one person has required extrication from the vehicle, according to fire officials. Essex-Windsor EMS transported five people from the scene but Ontario Provincial Police said the injuries are not life-threatening.

Access to Tecumseh Road East from Shawnee Road is blocked and drivers are urged to avoid the area.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
