Flooding shuts down pool in LaSalle

The outdoor pool in LaSalle is closed.

The town said the pool on Front Road at Laurier Drive will remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday because of flooding in the area.

All lessons and programs are cancelled.

"Program participants have been notified of the closure," said the town in a news release late Tuesday afternoon.

The situation will be reassessed on Thursday.

Front Road and the streets west of Front Road are flooded with standing water from rain and water from the Detroit River pushed on land by the wind. Front Road was closed between Martin Lane and Laurier Drive for several hours on Sunday and Monday due to overland flooding. Drivers are reminded to drive with caution on Front Road as water levels may continue to fluctuate with shifting wind. The curb lane on Front Road around Kenwood Avenue is closed in each direction due to standing water.
