LaSalle makes a splashy announcement

LaSalle's outdoor pool is set to open just in time for the scorching heat this week.

The town said it will reopen on Wednesday.

Officials said all lessons and programs will take place as scheduled.

Laurier Drive west of Front Road near the TD Bank, however, remains closed due to standing water.

Drivers are being asked to use Adams Lane to access parking for the pool but because of the standing water parking is limited. Additional parking should be available at the Riverdance Building and in the small parking lot behind the TD Bank.

The Riverdance Building will also be open beginning on Wednesday.

The LaSalle boat ramp remains closed.

"Please use caution in the area. The water level in the Detroit River continues to fluctuate," the town said in a news release issued on Tuesday afternoon.

Town officials continue to monitor conditions in the area.
