Windsor stabbing leads to arrest

Windsor police have made an arrest following a stabbing near downtown.

Police said a man was stabbed near Wyandotte Street and Marentette Avenue Wednesday night after an argument.

"Officers arrived and located an adult male victim who had been stabbed," police said in a news release Thursday afternoon.

The male victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police believe the men know each other. Investigators said the suspect ran away but was taken into custody on Thursday just after 3 a.m. near Glengarry Avenue and University Avenue after a brief foot chase.

Police allege officers found some methamphetamine on the suspect.

Jonathan Beck, 25, of Windsor, is charged with aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine, and four counts of breach of probation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
