Pupatello returns to politics in Windsor West

The Liberals may have found their candidate for the federal election to run in the riding of Windsor West.

Sandra Pupatello left politics in 2011 after losing the leadership of the Ontario Liberal Party to Kathleen Wynne.

She will seek the nomination.

She was first elected in 1995 and once the Liberals won a majority government in 2003, was quickly promoted to then-Premier Dalton McGuinty's cabinet.  She in a number of posts including Minister of Community and Social Services, Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Minister of Education, and as Deputy Premier.

Her campaign will officially kick off Friday at the Fogolar Furlan Club in Windsor.

Pupatello, if she gets the nomination, will run against incumbent MP Brian Masse, Henry Lau of the Conservatives, and Darryl Burrell of the People's Party of Canada.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
