Windsor firefighers busy on Friday afternoon

Windsor firefighters had their hands full as two house fires were reported Friday afternoon.

One fire was reported at a vacant house on Mill Street near Felix Avenue in Sandwich Towne. Exterior damage was the result of that fire, with an estimate of about $10,000.

The second fire was at a home on Matthew Brady Boulevard near St. Rose in Riverside. That fire was confined to a kitchen and officials say unattended cooking was the cause. No one was hurt, but no damage estimate was readily available.
