OPP nab drugs at Colchester Park

Two people from Windsor have been arrested and charged with drug possession in Essex.

Ontario Provincial Police officers were doing foot patrol at the Colchester Marina on Thursday afternoon when they were told about a suspicious person in a vehicle near the park. The officers approached the vehicle and noticed two people inside who were alleged to have open liquor and some illegal narcotics.

A 31-year-old and a 51-year-old, both from Windsor, were arrested and were charged with possession of cocaine and possession of an opioid. Neither their names or genders have been made public.

"The OPP thank those who came forward to report this activity resulting in the seizure of suspected illicit narcotics and the arrest of the individuals involved," the OPP said in a news release Wednesday morning. "We encourage anyone observing suspicious behaviour to contact the Provincial Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122 or in an emergency 911."

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
