UPDATE: Police cruiser involved in incident, Wyandotte Street East reopened

Several sections of roadways are open again near the downtown core after an accident involving a Windsor Police cruiser.

The incident took place Monday morning in the area of Wyandotte Street East and McDougall Street.

Police have blocked off Wyandotte Street East at Windsor Avenue, Tuscarora Street at McDougall Street, Wyandotte Street East at McDougall Street and Wyandotte Street East at Mercer Street while they investigated.

Few details have been released, however, a caller to Blackburn News said he was in the area when the accident occurred, adding that the person involved was using a mobility scooter.

Blackburn News has reached out to Windsor Police for comment and will provide updates as they become available.

The road is open again.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
