UPDATE: East Windsor gas strike repaired

A gas line strike that resulted in the evacuation of three east Windsor homes has been fixed.

Windsor Fire and Rescue reported the strike at St. Louis Avenue near Riverside Drive East in the Riverside section shortly before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. It was not immediately disclosed how the strike happened.

In a tweet, Windsor fire officials said three homes on that block were evacuated as a precaution. A crew from Enbridge Gas repaired the line.

The situation was resolved about 90 minutes later and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
