Police search for driver in hit and run involving cyclist

Police in Windsor are looking for the driver involved in a hit and run crash Friday night at Tecumseh Road East near Forest Glade Drive.

At around 8:50 p.m., a vehicle hit a woman on a white bicycle. She was conscious at the time and was rushed to hospital with injuries that were later determined to be life-threatening.

Investigators believe the woman was hit by a pickup truck that was headed west on Tecumseh Road East at the time of the collision. The driver had left the scene by the time police officers arrived.

The pickup, a full-sized Ford, was black and may have damage on the passenger side mirror.

Police would like to speak with the driver.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
