Flood watch issued for Essex region

Heavy rain this afternoon and into the evening could cause flooding throughout the region.

The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch for the entire region. With anywhere between 25 millimetres to 50 millimetres of rain expected on Wednesday, ponding may occur in low-lying areas.

These storms can also produce strong winds causing waves, splashing and spray that can exacerbate shoreline areas with additional water.

This particular warning will be in effect until 10 a.m. on Thursday, however, the shoreline flood watch issued on August 2, 2019, remains in effect until October.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
