Police arrest suspect in illegal gun case

A suspect wanted in relation to an illegal gun has been arrested.

Windsor police conducted a search warrant and seized the gun from a house in August but the suspect linked to the gun was not present.

On Thursday, members of the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Unit arrest the suspect on Bruce Street near University Avenue.

Devante Kersey, a 25-year-old man from Windsor, is facing 12 counts of firearm-related charges.

The matter remains under active investigation. There is still one outstanding suspect in the case.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
