Investigation in Leamington results in drug trafficking charges

A Leamington man is facing several charges after an investigation done by the OPP's Community Street Crime Unit.

According to police, the street crime unit was active in an investigation involving the suspected trafficking of illicit drugs in Leamington. During the investigation, they were able to identify a residence and suspect.

On Friday, with judicial authorization, police searched the Erie Street North residence and as a result, a 28-year-old man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of a controlled substance (Psilocybin) and failure to comply with probation. These charged have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
